Knitting

Pi is Infinite…

So is this shawl.
Pattern: Pi Circles from Holly Chayes’ Shawl Geometry series
Yarn: Patons 100% cotton 4ply, not sure of the colourway.

I started this last July, to take with me to Vietnam, but after a bunch of increases it started to get boring. It was just miles and miles of Stockinette Stitch, and I haven’t even made a dent in the second skein. So making it came to a halt.

A few days ago I was rooting through my small YarnStache, and 80% of what I have is DK in assorted coloured acrylic/acrylic cotton blend… all of which have recommended needle sizes of 4mm.

The projects I want to make, the ones I’m craving right now…require 4mm circulars.

I only own one pair of 4mms, and they’re being used for this shawl blanket. I want to avoid investing in more, because I want to stick to as small a number of projects at one time as is possible. I’m happy being knee deep in knitting, but I don’t want to be one of those knitters who are swimming. I just wouldn’t finish anything.

So, long story short, I am plugging away at this shawl blanket. It will, eventually, get done.
