Hi everyone!
I’ve had a bit of a wild week and it’s been a while since I updated the blog, so I thought I’d share what I’ve been up to.
As I type, it’s Saturday (the 27th April) and I’ve just come home from my part-time job. I went out on Wednesday, Thursday AND Friday with various groups of friends as well, so needless to say I am a bit knackered as I still have some university assignments due. However, I feel productive right now so I thought I may as well use this positive energy somehow! The blog often feels like my most productive hobby – it’s something I work hard on and feels like work but I also don’t stress about it a lot and actually relieve stress from working in this way.
So… the first major announcement that I finally feel comfortable announcing at this stage in the year is that I will be studying in South Korea for the next academic year! It’s been a dream of mine to visit the country as I grew up interested in K-Pop and Korean culture. The process of applying and preparing through my university and the partner university is long and a little stressful, though, but I’m sure it will all pay off when I fly out in September. Of course, I will be trying to at least blog my experience and might even try to film a vlog or two!
On Wednesday this week, I met up with a group of friends for a meetup at Kongs’ Birmingham. It’s a retro arcade and bar, with food from Burger Theory. They have original machines for classic games like Street Fighter and Bubble Bobble, as well as a foosball table and two ping-pong tables. The food was alright to me, but I wouldn’t order too much. The highlight of the place is just spending a few hours there playing with friends with maybe a drink or two.
On Thursday I went with my uni friends to Coventry where one of them lives, and we went on a whole day trip getting food and visiting places. I got to visit Coventry Cathedral for the first time since I was 13, and we also visited the Herbert museum and art gallery which was showing the National Geographic Wildlife Photographer Award exhibit too. We spent so long there we only had time for a quick glance around the Transport Museum, which is honestly a dream for anybody interested in cars. I sent a few photos along to my boyfriend and I guess it’s safe to say that I’ll be visiting with my boyfriend sometime soon…
We finished off the day gorging ourselves at Jin Seon, a nearby Korean restaurant. I don’t have much to say about it – it was a lot of food, and all really really good! We ate so much we were surprised when our bill turned out pretty affordable, so I’d definitely recommend bringing a bunch of friends and sharing dishes so you can try a lot! Their fried chicken is really good!
On Friday, I watched Avengers: Endgame. I’m… not going to say anymore. I did, however, cry a lot.
This brings us to today. In other news, I lost my everyday wired earbuds and bought a new pair. I’ve been using JVC Xtreme Xplosives for years now, but I thought I would try out the Skullcandy Supreme Sound Ink’d and was thoroughly disappointed. The most important thing for me is the bass and I don’t hear as much on the Skullcandy ones. The boyfriend has used them and liked them before and he said the sound was different to back when he had them, so maybe they’ve changed them since.
On a final note, has anyone been to the new Primark store in Birmingham yet? I almost never shop there as the older store was terrible and I tend to buy pieces that are sturdier and will last at least a few years of regular wear. On top of that, sizing at Primark is not ideal for me and it’s not worth scouring their entire selection for something that fits just right. Fast fashion in my wardrobe is something I want to tackle another day, though.
Anyway, that’s all from me for now! I’m currently working on the latest Quarterly Media Edit but afterwards, I might be a little quiet when it comes to blog content.
