(Hello, this is also a post that has lived too long in my drafts! Bear with!)
I was gifted this from my friend Q like, an eternity ago, but the review is finally here – I am reviewing the E.l.f Velvet Matte Lipstick in Burgundy! We all know I love a bit of Burgundy!
The packaging is simple matte plastic, sturdy and not prone to breaking. The design is not really special but it still looks a bit different to what I have at the moment so I can spot it amongst my stash. I like that the packaging has the colour underneath, so if I store it upside down I’ll know what colour it is, too even if I had multiple of this range.
It’s £4.50, and you can purchase it at Superdrug or on the E.l.f. Website.
It’s very similar to the Rimmel Kate in 107, the formula is perhaps a tiny bit lighter but otherwise identical, but one major plus that the elf lipstick has over Rimmel is that it’s cruelty-free! I know 107 is very close to MAC Diva but if you want to avoid MAC for selling in China, elf don’t sell in China either so this is a good replacement choice.
Overall, this is a good thumbs up from me. A classic shade in an affordable, cruelty-free version can hardly be a no.
However, on a more personal note, it’s just not something I am picking up a lot recently and I’m not taking it with me to Korea either, so it might not be worn regularly for a while.
On another note, please do tell me if you have any recommendations for K-Beauty products while I am in Korea!! I need to start building a list!!
