One of my goals throughout the holiday is to try and visit as many cafes in Seoul as possible. There are so many, and I want to visit them all while I still have the chance. I spotted Le Montblanc on Instagram, and luckily the friend that came with me also had that cafe on her go-to list! So off we went.
To get to the cafe, we took the subway to Noksapyeong Station, which is one stop away from Itaewon from Line 6. I think you can also take Line 4 to Sookmyung Station and walk from there.
Address: 1-91, Yongsan-dong 2(i)-ga, Yongsan-gu, Seoul
The area happens to be near Namsan Mountain, so it’s naturally very hilly and either way, you’re faced with a hefty trek before you get to the cafe. It’s tucked away down a minor-looking side alley, so if you struggle on Seoul streets like I do, you’ll definitely need a maps app on your phone to help track your way.
Le Montblanc is a charming cafe that is yarn themed! Since I used to knit, I adored all the little details in the cafe. Like many cafes in Seoul, it’s minimally but very tastefully decorated.
It takes a long time to decide on a dessert. They ALL look very good!
My friend and I decided to take the Coffee and the Mango Citrus flavours of ‘t-shirt’ desserts. They look so convincing, like they were hand-knit! I was absolutely in love with them.
In all honesty, I was expecting Le Montblanc to be like the kind of place that serves pretty, but not so great desserts. However, while we were deciding on our orders, we spotted a certificate from Le Cordon Bleu (for anyone who doesn’t know, it’s a very famous French culinary school) so our standards went up a little. At this point, I don’t think we were sure of what we were expecting.
We started off with an unfortunately not-pictured Earl Grey Eclair, which we both really liked. It was super creamy on the inside and the Earl Grey flavour was pretty prominant in it.
Onto the highlights! Between the Coffee and Mango Citrus Tees, I would definitely choose the Mango Citrus again next time. The Coffee Tee was just many layers of varying coffee strengths and textures, whereas the Mango showed a bit more unusual variety, including layers of jelly, lemon curd and what I swore was hazelnut ice cream. Anyway, it was all delicious.
I can see myself maybe visiting once again towards the end of my time in Korea, but honestly there’s too many cafes to get around so I doubt I will!
I hope you enjoyed this Cafe Break! I’ll hopefully have more posts up over my winter holidays.
Hi, would love to visit this cafe in the future. One question though, which exit did you go after getting off at Itaewon station? Thanks! 💚

Hiya, sorry for the late reply. It’s not Itaewon station, but it’s the next stop along, at Noksapyeong, and it is Exit 2. Thank you for reading!
